This week's show features the usual mix of bluegrass--old & new, old-time, western swing, and traditional country music--with a bit more emphasis on the cowboy/cowgirl side of the family than usual.
The second half hour kicks off with a Bob Wills number, then rolls on into an interview with the Quebe Sisters as they get ready to foray deep into New England. This coming weekend: they'll be at the Lowell Folk Festival, Fr 7/29, Sa 7/30, and Su 7/31 (http://www.lowellfolkfestival.org/ for more info)--one of the best free folk festivals in the USofA. If you can make a trip to Lowell, MA, to see them, I'd urge you to do so--and there will be a lot of other great musicians there as well!
Who are the Quebe Sisters? Hulda, Sophia, and Grace play trip fiddle harmonies the ol' Texas way, and sing sweet three-part harmonies as if they were the Andrews Sisters.
