First off, congrats to the winners in the Band and Songwriter Contests at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival, held the weekend of August 6 and 7 in East Hartford:

This week’s show includes a couple of tracks from Avery County’s latest CD and a couple of tracks from Terry McGill’s 2001 CD—Terry was the banjo player Travers Chandler brought north with him.

Playlist for 8/1/11 Black Diamond Show: Podunk Preview (WNHU, West Haven, CT, 88.7 FM & www.wnhu.net)

This week's show features artists who will be appearing at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival in East Hartford Th 8/4 - Su 8/7. Yours truly is planning to make the trek to the festival on Sunday Aug. 7. I'll be the grey-bearded fellow in a dirty AC Milan baseball hat trying not to spend $300 on CDs and other merchandise. It should be fun all four days!
